In 2019, the Zimbabwe national football team, known as the Warriors, had a year marked by significant achievements and challenges.
Zimbabwe secured their spot in the 2019 AFCON by topping Group G in the qualifiers, finishing ahead of DR Congo, Liberia, and Congo Brazzaville.
Competing in Group A alongside Egypt, Uganda, and DR Congo, Zimbabwe played three matches:

June 21, 2019: Faced Egypt in the opening match, narrowly losing 1-0.

June 26, 2019: Drew 1-1 with Uganda.

June 30, 2019: Lost 4-0 to DR Congo.
These results led to their elimination in the group stage.
The team was under the guidance of coach Sunday Chidzambwa throughout the year, while notable players included captain Knowledge Musona, Khama Billiat, and Marvelous Nakamba, all of whom played pivotal roles in both the AFCON qualifiers and the tournament itself.
