The 2017/18 home kit was revealed in June 2017 and marked a return to a more classic West Ham aesthetic. It features a two-tone claret body and sky blue sleeves, a nod to the club’s traditional claret and blue colour combo. The most striking design element is the chevron motif on the chest and collar, inspired by the club’s historical kits—originally seen in the 1970s—and by structural and architectural elements of the London Stadium, like its iconic roof supports. The combination of these design cues places the shirt firmly in West Ham’s visual tradition while adding a contemporary twist.
This kit was worn throughout the 2017/18 Premier League season, a turbulent campaign in which West Ham ultimately finished 13th. Manager Slaven Bilić was replaced midway through by David Moyes. The kit is remembered for that period of transition, with the Betway sponsorship and the chevron-inspired design becoming iconic for fans. Haksabanović’s name variant gives it extra rarity value for collectors.
