Fredrik Ljungberg was a key figure in the Sweden national football team during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. His performances that year cemented his status as one of Sweden's finest footballers. He is known for his attacking qualities, dynamic runs, excellent crossing ability, and knack for scoring crucial goals.
Sweden faced England, Paraguay and Trinidad & Tobago in the group stages. The team managed to make it to the round of 16 but was knocked out by Germany.
After the 2006 World Cup, Ljungberg continued to play for Sweden until 2008, after which he shifted to a more limited role with the national team. He went on to have a successful club career, most notably with Arsenal, where he was a key player during their invincible 2003/04 Premier League season.
