The 2000/02 home shirt from Reebok kept Liverpool’s traditional bright red identity but added a bold twist with its white fold-over collar and V-insert. This was the first Liverpool kit to fully embrace a more modern, athletic silhouette while still maintaining a touch of retro styling through the prominent collar. The shirt’s body was otherwise plain red, giving it a clean and classic presence on the pitch.
This kit was worn by Liverpool during the 2000/01 and 2001/02 seasons, a period of resurgence under Gérard Houllier. Most memorably, it was the shirt in which Liverpool won a historic cup treble in 2000/01: the FA Cup, League Cup, and UEFA Cup. Players like Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, and Jamie Carragher all featured prominently in this design. The following year, the shirt was retained for Premier League play as Liverpool finished second in 2001/02, their best league finish in over a decade at the time.
