This Arsenal 2014/15 home shirt was made by Puma and features Mesut Özil’s #11 nameset together with Barclays Premier League sleeve patches. This is also the long-sleeve version of the shirt from Arsenal’s first season with Puma, ending the club’s 20-year association with Nike.
Arsène Wenger’s side enjoyed another successful cup season in 2014/15. Arsenal finished third in the Premier League and retained the FA Cup, becoming the first Arsenal team since 2002/03 to win major trophies in consecutive seasons. They defeated Aston Villa 4–0 at Wembley in the final, with Theo Walcott, Alexis Sánchez, Per Mertesacker and Olivier Giroud scoring. The squad featured Özil alongside Sánchez, Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey, Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and a young Héctor Bellerín.
Özil entered the campaign as a newly crowned World Cup winner with Germany but missed around three months of the season through injury. After returning in January, he became an important part of Arsenal’s strong second half of the campaign. He recorded four goals in 22 Premier League appearances and scored once during Arsenal’s FA Cup run, starting all five of his appearances in the competition, including the final at Wembley. Across all competitions, he contributed five goals and nine assists.
For collectors, the combination of Özil #11, long sleeves, Premier League sleeve patches and Arsenal’s first Puma home design makes this a particularly strong shirt from the mid-2010s era. It also captures Özil immediately after becoming a World Cup winner and during an Arsenal campaign that ended with a second consecutive FA Cup triumph.
