This Manchester United 2010/11 home shirt was made by Nike and features Wayne Rooney’s #10 nameset together with Barclays Premier League sleeve patches. It comes from a historic campaign in which Sir Alex Ferguson’s side won a record-breaking 19th English league championship, moving beyond Liverpool’s previous record of 18.
United’s season ended with the Premier League title after a campaign built around an experienced core of Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nemanja Vidić and Edwin van der Sar alongside players such as Nani, Dimitar Berbatov and emerging striker Javier Hernández. United also reached the Champions League final at Wembley, where they were beaten by Barcelona, making this shirt part of another major domestic and European campaign under Ferguson.
For Rooney, the season is remembered above all for one of the defining goals of his career. Against Manchester City at Old Trafford in February 2011, he produced an extraordinary overhead kick to give United a 2–1 victory.
