Produced by Nike, this Manchester City away shirt features the classic Swoosh on the chest alongside the club crest rendered in a striking yellow monochrome. The Etihad Airways sponsor matches the crest and logo, creating a cohesive and high-contrast front that stands out against the dark base.
The shirt is defined by its bold black body combined with deep burgundy sleeves and side panels – a dramatic and modern colourway that marked a clear departure from City’s traditional sky blue. Subtle texturing in the fabric adds depth, while the minimalist colour palette gives the shirt a sleek, almost stealth-like appearance. On the back, the white Premier League-style name set “DE BRUYNE” and number 17 provide sharp contrast and excellent readability.
Worn during the 2016/17 season, this away shirt represents Pep Guardiola’s first year in charge of Manchester City. Kevin De Bruyne was a central figure in the team, operating as the creative engine in midfield and cementing his status as one of the Premier League’s most influential playmakers. While the season was transitional, it laid the tactical foundations for the dominance that would follow in subsequent years, making this shirt an important marker in modern City history.
