This is the Manchester City 2014/15 home shirt made by Nike, shown here in the long-sleeve version with Touré Yaya 42 on the back. It features the club’s traditional sky blue base, a dark Nike Swoosh, the Manchester City crest, and Etihad Airways as the front sponsor. The shirt also has Barclays Premier League Champions sleeve patches, and the Touré Yaya 42 print is fully correct for the period.
The design is very clean and understated. The main body is plain sky blue, while the contrast comes from the dark V-insert collar, dark sleeve cuffs, and the darker sponsor and swoosh. Compared with some more graphic Manchester City shirts from later years, this one keeps a more traditional look and relies on colour contrast rather than patterning.
Manchester City used this home shirt during the 2014/15 season under Manuel Pellegrini. Yaya Touré remained one of the team’s most important players, which makes the Touré Yaya 42 print especially relevant.
