The New Balance Liverpool FC 2017/18 Home Football Shirt with ‘SALAH’ on the back is one of the most iconic modern kits in the club’s history—tied directly to Mohamed Salah’s record-breaking debut season at Anfield.
This shirt marked Liverpool’s 125th anniversary, and the design reflected that heritage. It featured a deeper, retro-inspired shade of red, officially called “Shankly Red,” in homage to the club's legendary manager. The look was classic and minimalist, drawing inspiration from kits worn in the 1970s and 1980s. A subtle white V-neck collar and white sleeve trim gave the shirt a refined, vintage edge. The Liverpool crest was embroidered in white and featured a special “125 Years” inscription underneath to commemorate the milestone year.
This was Salah’s first season with Liverpool, and he delivered an electrifying campaign—scoring 32 goals in all competitions, breaking the Premier League record for most goals in a 36-game season (32 goals), and quickly becoming a fan favorite.
