This is the Kappa IFK Göteborg 2016/17 home shirt. It features the club’s classic blue-and-white vertical stripes, the IFK Göteborg crest with the gold star above it, the Prioritet Finans sponsor across the chest, and Kappa’s signature Omini logos on the shoulders and chest. The shirt keeps Blåvitt’s traditional identity intact, but presents it through a more sculpted and slightly more fashion-led Kappa template than many of the club’s adidas-era shirts.
The design feels very much of its time. The stripe layout is bolder and more shaped than on some earlier IFK home shirts, with the central white panel and blue striping creating a more dramatic front composition. The collar is also more distinctive, with a short split-neck look that gives the shirt a sharper and slightly more tailored appearance. Compared with more straightforward striped home shirts, this one feels a bit more stylised, but it still remains unmistakably IFK Göteborg because the core blue-and-white balance is so strong.
This shirt is most closely associated with IFK Göteborg’s 2016/17 period, when the club continued to rely on one of Swedish football’s strongest visual identities while moving into a different supplier era with Kappa. Because of that, it has a bit of extra appeal: it is still a very traditional Blåvitt home shirt, but it also feels distinct within the wider timeline of IFK Göteborg kits.
