This is the Sweden 2002 home shirt made by adidas, shown here with Ibrahimovic 21 on the back. It features Sweden’s classic yellow base with blue trim, the Svenska Fotbollförbundet crest, blue adidas branding, and large breathable mesh side panels that give it a very distinct early-2000s look. The 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan sleeve patch places it directly in the tournament context, while the Ibrahimovic 21 print makes it especially interesting from a collector’s perspective.
The design is very different from Sweden’s louder 1990s shirts. Instead of bold geometric jacquards, adidas went for a cleaner and more technical look here, with a strong plain yellow body, blue shoulder stripes, and oversized mesh ventilation panels down both sides. That makes the shirt feel much more performance-driven, which was very typical of early-2000s international kits. It is simpler than the 1994 shirt, but still instantly recognizable as Sweden thanks to the crisp yellow-and-blue colour balance.
This shirt is most closely associated with the 2002 FIFA World Cup, when Sweden reached the round of 16. The squad included Henrik Larsson, Freddie Ljungberg, Marcus Allbäck, Anders Svensson, Olof Mellberg, Teddy Lučić, Tobias Linderoth, and a young Zlatan Ibrahimović. At that point Ibrahimović was still at the beginning of his international career, which makes the Ibrahimovic 21 print especially appealing. It connects the shirt not only to Sweden’s 2002 World Cup campaign, but also to the early rise of the player who would become the biggest Swedish football figure of the modern era.
