This is the Olympique de Marseille 2005/06 third shirt made by adidas. It features a half-and-half design in gold and dark navy, with light blue adidas detailing on the shoulders and sleeves. The shirt carries the Olympique de Marseille crest with the star above it, the adidas logo, and neuf telecom as the front sponsor. This example also has RIBERY 7 on the back.
The design is one of the most distinctive Marseille shirts from the mid-2000s. Instead of using the club’s usual white base, adidas went with a vertically split layout, with gold on one side and navy on the other, and continued the same split on the back. The contrast is reinforced by the light blue trim, which links the shirt back to Marseille’s traditional colour identity. It is a highly recognizable third shirt from the period and stands out clearly from the club’s home and away kits of the same season.
Marseille used this third shirt during the 2005/06 season, when the club finished fifth in Ligue 1 and reached the Coupe de France final. It was also Franck Ribéry’s breakthrough season at a high level, and he quickly became one of the team’s most important players.
