Dejan Kulusevski joined Juventus ahead of the 2020/21 season after a breakout campaign on loan at Parma. Under head coach Andrea Pirlo, Kulusevski served primarily as an attacking midfielder/winger.
Kulusevski officially completed his move to Juventus in January 2020 (from Atalanta), though he finished that season at Parma on loan before linking up with Juve in summer 2020. Given his standout performances at Parma—where he showcased playmaking, goals, and high work rate—he arrived with considerable excitement.
Often deployed on the right flank or as a second striker/attacking midfielder, Kulusevski featured regularly in Pirlo’s fluid system. With Cristiano Ronaldo and Álvaro Morata also in the attack, he adapted to different roles in the final third.
Kulusevski made 47 appearances across all competitions for Juventus in 2020/21, demonstrating the trust Pirlo placed in him. In Serie A, he played 35 matches, registering 4 goals and 3 assists, contributing to the team’s attacking output.
One of Kulusevski’s standout moments came in the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta (his former club). He scored Juve’s first goal in a 2–1 victory, helping secure the trophy and marking an important personal milestone.
Juventus finished fourth in Serie A that season, securing Champions League qualification on the final matchday.
