Germany's 2004 home football shirt, manufactured by adidas, features legendary German striker Miroslav Klose #11. Released for UEFA Euro 2004 in Portugal, the shirt represents an important period in Klose's international career as he continued to establish himself as one of Germany's leading forwards. Having announced himself on the world stage with five goals at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, Klose entered the tournament with growing expectations and would eventually become Germany's all-time leading goalscorer and the highest scorer in FIFA World Cup history.
The shirt features Germany's traditional white colourway with contrasting black shoulder panels and adidas' signature three stripes. Red and gold accents along the sleeves reference the German national flag, while the German Football Association crest is accompanied by three silver stars representing the country's World Cup victories in 1954, 1974 and 1990. The design incorporates a white fold-over collar, breathable mesh panels and distinctive black player numbering with a perforated pattern. Klose's name and number 11 appear on the back, while a German flag detail on the sleeve completes the national team aesthetic.
Germany's UEFA Euro 2004 campaign ended in disappointment as the team failed to progress beyond the group stage. Drawn alongside the Netherlands, Latvia and the Czech Republic, Germany recorded two draws before suffering a 2–1 defeat to the Czech Republic in their final match. The early elimination marked the end of Rudi Völler's tenure as national team manager and prompted a period of rebuilding ahead of the 2006 FIFA World Cup on home soil. Klose remained part of Germany's attacking options during the tournament and would go on to play a decisive role in the team's resurgence, winning the Golden Boot at the 2006 World Cup with five goals.
