The adidas France 2008 Away Football Shirt features a striking all-red design that departs from France's traditional white away kits while retaining the nation's iconic blue, white and red through the adidas three stripes on the shoulders and sleeve detailing. Tonal wave graphics flow across the front of the shirt, adding subtle texture without overwhelming the clean aesthetic.
This example is customised with Patrick Vieira #4, the legendary French midfielder who captained Les Bleus during much of the 2008–2010 period. It also features the official 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers sleeve patch, making it representative of France's qualification campaign for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Following UEFA Euro 2008, France entered a transitional period under Raymond Domenech. Experienced leaders such as Vieira were relied upon to guide a new generation through a difficult qualification campaign.
