Chelsea FC's 2006–08 home football shirt, manufactured by adidas, features legendary Ivorian striker Didier Drogba #11. Introduced ahead of the 2006/07 season, the shirt marked the beginning of adidas' partnership with Chelsea following the club's previous association with Umbro. Worn across two seasons, it represents an important period in Chelsea's modern history, with Drogba establishing himself as one of Europe's most formidable strikers and a defining figure of the club's success under José Mourinho.
The 2006/07 season was particularly significant for Drogba, who finished as the Premier League's top scorer with 20 goals and claimed his first Golden Boot. Chelsea finished second in the league but secured both the FA Cup and League Cup, with Drogba scoring the winning goal against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at the newly rebuilt Wembley Stadium. The following season brought further European significance as Chelsea reached their first UEFA Champions League final in 2008, narrowly losing to Manchester United on penalties in Moscow. Drogba remained a central figure throughout both campaigns, making this shirt closely associated with his rise to legendary status at Stamford Bridge.
