Bayern Munich's 2021/22 home football shirt, manufactured by adidas, features Polish striker Robert Lewandowski #9. Worn during his eighth and final season at the club, the shirt represents the closing chapter of one of the most prolific goalscoring spells in Bundesliga history. Lewandowski had established himself as Bayern's leading goalscorer and one of the world's most accomplished strikers, having won the European Golden Shoe and broken Gerd Müller's long-standing Bundesliga single-season scoring record the previous campaign.

The shirt features Bayern Munich's traditional red colourway, combining a darker burgundy upper section with a distinctive red chevron pattern extending across the lower front. White adidas stripes run along the shoulders, complemented by the embroidered adidas logo and Bayern Munich crest with four gold stars. The iconic Telekom sponsor sits centrally on the chest, while the Qatar Airways and Qatar sleeve branding appear on opposite sleeves. The back features Lewandowski's name and number 9 in white, accompanied by the club's signature Mia San Mia lettering beneath the collar. adidas AEROREADY technology completes the design.

The 2021/22 season saw Bayern Munich secure their tenth consecutive Bundesliga title under newly appointed manager Julian Nagelsmann. Lewandowski delivered another exceptional campaign, scoring 35 league goals in 34 appearances to claim his seventh Bundesliga top scorer award. Across all competitions, he scored 50 goals in 46 matches, including 13 in the UEFA Champions League. Despite Bayern's quarter-final elimination against Villarreal in Europe, Lewandowski's individual performances remained outstanding. The season ultimately marked his final campaign in Munich before his transfer to FC Barcelona in the summer of 2022, ending an eight-year spell that produced 344 goals in 375 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern.
