Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga for the fourth consecutive time in 2015/16. They also claimed the DFB-Pokal, defeating Borussia Dortmund on penalties in the final. while in the UEFA Champions League, Bayern reached the semifinals but were narrowly eliminated by Atlético Madrid.
As a center-back, Boateng was a linchpin in Guardiola’s possession-based style, prized for his ball-playing ability, long passing range, and strong defensive positioning.
