Puma - Helsingborgs IF 2022 Home Football Shirt 'CHIKA CHIDI'

This Helsingborgs IF 2022 home shirt was made by Puma and features the club’s traditional red colourway, complemented by blue detailing around the V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs. The design combines a clean red base with white Puma branding, the Helsingborgs IF crest and the Akea sponsor across the chest. Additional sponsorships include Kondektor and Svalner, while the yellow XXL sleeve branding adds another distinctive element to the shirt.

The reverse features CHIKA CHIDI #22, representing Nigerian-Swedish forward Chika Chidi. The nameset is printed in white, contrasting against the red fabric, with Tillmobil branding positioned beneath the number. Puma's dryCELL performance fabric completes the construction, providing a lightweight design consistent with the brand's modern football shirts.

The shirt was introduced in March 2022 under the campaign “Den röda tröjan för alla” (The Red Shirt for Everyone), highlighting Helsingborgs IF's commitment to making football accessible throughout the region. Developed specifically for the club, the design was produced using 100% recycled material and featured updated satin-transfer detailing on the crest. 

The 2022 campaign marked Helsingborg's return to Allsvenskan after securing promotion through the 2021 play-offs. However, the season proved difficult, with the club finishing 15th on 17 points and suffering relegation back to Superettan. Despite the disappointing results, the shirt represents an important chapter in Helsingborg's recent history. 

The Chika Chidi nameset adds an interesting distinction to this example. Although the shirt is from the 2022 collection, Chidi's association with Helsingborg came later, with the player appearing for the club during the 2024 Superettan campaign. This makes the combination a 2022 shirt featuring a later player nameset rather than a configuration associated with the club's 2022 first-team squad. 

For collectors, the appeal lies in the traditional red-and-blue design, the distinctive Puma construction and the connection to Helsingborg's return to Sweden's top division. The Chika Chidi #22 printing gives this particular example an individual character, while its original 2022 design reflects a season of significant change at Olympia.
