This Real Madrid 2023/24 home shirt was made by adidas and features Rodrygo’s #11 Champions League nameset together with UEFA Champions League and UEFA Foundation sleeve detailing. The shirt also carries the gold FIFA World Champions 2022 badge on the chest, recognising Madrid’s Club World Cup triumph the previous season. This particular configuration is closely connected to an exceptional campaign in which Real Madrid won both La Liga and their record-extending 15th European Cup.
The 2023/24 season became one of the strongest of Carlo Ancelotti’s second spell at the club. Real Madrid won their 36th La Liga title with four matches remaining, defeated Barcelona 4–1 to win the Spanish Super Cup and went unbeaten throughout their entire Champions League campaign. Their European run included victories over RB Leipzig, Manchester City and Bayern Munich before a 2–0 win against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley secured European Cup number 15.
Rodrygo played an important role in that European triumph. Wearing #11, the Brazilian scored five Champions League goals and accumulated 1,021 minutes in the competition, with only Federico Valverde and Antonio Rüdiger playing more for Madrid during the campaign. His most significant contribution came in the quarter-final first leg against Manchester City at the Bernabéu, where he scored in the 3–3 draw. Madrid eventually progressed on penalties at the Etihad before eliminating Bayern and defeating Dortmund in the final.
