This Manchester United 1994/96 home shirt was manufactured by Umbro and features one of the club's most celebrated designs of the 1990s. The shirt combines United's traditional red colourway with a black fold-over collar, white piping and a distinctive lace-effect V-neck opening. The white Umbro logo and iconic SHARP sponsor sit across the chest, alongside the Manchester United crest, presented within a white shield outline.
The reverse features BECKHAM #24, representing David Beckham during the early stages of his Manchester United career. The white nameset and oversized numbers feature Umbro branding at their base, reflecting the period's distinctive printing style. Beckham wore number 24 before switching to number 10 and eventually the iconic number 7, making this an especially interesting example from his emergence into the first team.
The shirt was worn across the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons under Sir Alex Ferguson. After narrowly missing out on the Premier League title to Blackburn Rovers in 1995, United returned stronger the following season. They overturned Newcastle United's commanding league lead to secure the 1995/96 Premier League title before defeating Liverpool 1–0 in the FA Cup final, courtesy of Eric Cantona's late winner, completing the club's second domestic Double in three seasons.
The 1995/96 campaign was particularly significant for Beckham and Manchester United's emerging Class of '92. Following a loan spell at Preston North End earlier in 1995, Beckham established himself in Ferguson's first team alongside fellow academy graduates Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Nicky Butt. Wearing number 24, he made 33 Premier League appearances and scored seven league goals during the Double-winning season, laying the foundations for a career that would make him one of football's most recognisable figures.
For collectors, this shirt brings together several defining elements of Manchester United's 1990s identity: the SHARP sponsor, Umbro's distinctive Old Trafford graphic and Beckham's early-career #24 nameset. Its connection to the 1996 Double and the emergence of the Class of '92 makes it a particularly meaningful piece from one of the club's most celebrated periods.
