This Malmö FF 2018 home shirt was made by Puma and features the club’s traditional sky-blue colourway, complemented by white Puma branding and the Volkswagen sponsor across the chest. The design takes a minimalist approach, with a clean crew-neck collar, raglan sleeves and subtle mesh-textured panels around the shoulders. The Malmö FF crest is accompanied by two gold stars, representing the club’s achievement of reaching 20 Swedish championships.
The two-star configuration is particularly significant, distinguishing this shirt from the previous season’s design. Malmö secured their 20th Swedish championship in 2017, becoming the first club in Sweden to reach that milestone. The 2018 home shirt was therefore among the first Malmö designs to feature the second gold star above the crest, marking a new chapter in the club’s history.
The reverse features a small Scanian flag beneath the collar and Tillmobil branding towards the lower hem. Without a player nameset or number, the shirt retains a clean appearance that places greater emphasis on the traditional sky-blue colour and the newly updated crest.
The 2018 season proved to be one of transition for Malmö FF. After a difficult start under Magnus Pehrsson, former Bundesliga striker Uwe Rösler took over as head coach in June. Malmö subsequently recovered to finish third in Allsvenskan, with captain Markus Rosenberg remaining an important figure in attack alongside players such as Anders Christiansen and Fouad Bachirou.
The club also enjoyed a memorable European campaign. After elimination from Champions League qualifying, Malmö defeated FC Midtjylland to reach the UEFA Europa League group stage. They subsequently advanced to the knockout rounds, setting up a meeting with Chelsea in early 2019. It was an important achievement during a season that had initially threatened to fall short of expectations.
