This AC Milan 2022/23 home shirt was made by Puma and features Zlatan Ibrahimović’s #11 nameset together with Champions League sleeve detailing and BitMEX sleeve sponsorship. It comes from the final season of Ibrahimović’s playing career, making the shirt particularly significant within his second spell at Milan. He had extended his contract for one final campaign and continued to wear the #11 shirt.
The 2022/23 season was especially memorable in Europe. Stefano Pioli’s side progressed from a Champions League group containing Chelsea, Red Bull Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb before eliminating Tottenham and Napoli in the knockout rounds. That took Milan into their first Champions League semi-final since 2006/07, where they faced city rivals Inter. Domestically, Milan finished fourth in Serie A to secure another season of Champions League football.
Ibrahimović’s personal season was very different. A long recovery from knee surgery kept him out until February 2023, when he returned after 280 days away. He subsequently scored against Udinese in March, becoming the oldest goalscorer in Serie A history at 41 years and 166 days. His final campaign was limited to four Serie A appearances, and after Milan’s final match of the season against Hellas Verona, Ibrahimović announced his retirement at an emotional San Siro farewell. He ended his two spells at Milan with 163 appearances and 93 goals.
