This Liverpool 2015/16 away shirt was made by New Balance and features Daniel Sturridge’s #15 nameset together with Barclays Premier League sleeve patches. It comes from New Balance’s first season as Liverpool’s kit manufacturer and a campaign that became particularly significant after Jürgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers as manager in October 2015. 

The 2015/16 season became the beginning of the Klopp era at Anfield. Liverpool finished eighth in the Premier League but reached two cup finals, losing the League Cup final to Manchester City on penalties before producing a memorable run to the Europa League final. In Europe they eliminated Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal before facing Sevilla in Basel.

Sturridge remained one of Liverpool’s most dangerous finishers when fit and played an important role in that European campaign. He scored from the penalty spot in the 2–0 first-leg victory over Manchester United and found the net again as Liverpool overturned a first-leg deficit to beat Villarreal 3–0 at Anfield in the semi-final. In the final against Sevilla, Sturridge produced one of the defining goals of his Liverpool career, opening the scoring with a superb outside-of-the-foot finish before Sevilla recovered to win 3–1.
