This Real Madrid 2024/25 away shirt was made by adidas and features Kylian Mbappé’s #9 nameset together with UEFA Champions League sleeve detailing, including the club’s 15-title badge and UEFA Foundation for Children patch. The shirt comes from Mbappé’s highly anticipated first season at Real Madrid following his move from Paris Saint-Germain, with the French forward taking the #9 shirt previously associated with several of the club’s great goalscorers.
The design features a striking orange base inspired by Real Madrid’s 2013/14 third shirt, connecting the look to the season in which the club finally secured La Décima. Dark navy detailing appears across the adidas Three Stripes, crest, sponsor and nameset, while a subtle abstract graphic runs throughout the shirt. The Emirates Fly Better sponsor completes one of the most distinctive Real Madrid away designs of the modern adidas era.
Real Madrid entered the campaign as reigning Spanish and European champions under Carlo Ancelotti. The club won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup, while finishing second in La Liga and reaching the Champions League quarter-finals. Mbappé scored in both the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta and the Intercontinental Cup final against Pachuca, collecting silverware during the opening months of his Madrid career.
Mbappé quickly established himself as the team's leading goalscorer. Wearing #9, he scored 31 goals in 34 La Liga appearances to win both the Pichichi Trophy and the European Golden Shoe, becoming the third Real Madrid player to win the latter after Hugo Sánchez and Cristiano Ronaldo. He finished his debut campaign with 44 goals across all competitions, an exceptional return for his first season in Madrid.
