This Real Madrid 2015/16 third shirt was made by adidas and features Sergio Ramos’ #4 nameset. The dark navy shirt comes from one of the defining seasons of Ramos’ career, when he became Real Madrid’s first-team captain following Iker Casillas’ departure and ended the campaign by lifting the club’s eleventh European Cup.
Real Madrid began the season under Rafael Benítez before Zinedine Zidane took charge in January 2016. Zidane transformed the second half of the campaign, with a squad featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Luka Modrić, Toni Kroos and Ramos eventually reaching the Champions League final against Atlético Madrid at San Siro. Madrid drew 1–1 after extra time before winning 5–3 on penalties to secure La Undécima.
Ramos played a defining role in the final. Wearing the captain’s armband, he opened the scoring in the 15th minute and later converted Real Madrid’s fourth penalty in the shootout. He was named Man of the Match before becoming the player to lift the trophy, completing his first season as club captain in remarkable fashion. It was also the second time in three seasons that Ramos had scored against Atlético in a Champions League final, following his famous late equaliser in Lisbon in 2014.
