This is Sweden's 2005 Away Shirt by Umbro, which was used primarily during the 2006 World Cup qualification campaign and in friendlies leading up to Germany 2006. The shirt is identifiable by its distinctive dark blue base, yellow trim, perforated front fabric and the characteristic Umbro design used before the 2006 World Cup kit launch.
The shirt features the iconic Mellberg #3 nameset. Olof Mellberg was one of Sweden's most important defenders during this era and a cornerstone of the national team alongside Zlatan Ibrahimović, Fredrik Ljungberg, Henrik Larsson and Kim Källström. As captain and defensive leader, Mellberg played a crucial role in helping Sweden qualify for major tournaments throughout the 2000s.
Design-wise, the shirt combines a rich navy-blue colour with yellow detailing on the crest, numbers and shoulder piping. The textured front panel and black mesh inserts provide both visual depth and improved ventilation, making it one of Umbro's most distinctive Sweden away shirts.
For collectors, this is a particularly interesting piece because it represents the transition period between Sweden's Euro 2004 generation and the squad that would go on to compete at the 2006 World Cup.
