This is the England 2002 home shirt made by Umbro, shown here with OWEN 10 on the back and special front printing for England v Brazil, 21-6-2002. It features a white base, navy trim, the England crest, Umbro logo, and the shirt’s defining red vertical stripe running down the right side of the front. This example also has the official 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan sleeve patch, which places it directly in World Cup context.
The design is one of the most recognizable England shirts of the early 2000s. It uses a clean white body with subtle tonal striping in the fabric, navy piping around the seams, and mesh-style side panels for ventilation. The red front stripe is the key visual detail and is strongly associated with England’s 2002 World Cup kit.
Michael Owen wore number 10 for England and was one of the team’s main attacking players at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. The front detail England v Brazil, 21-6-2002 refers to the World Cup quarter-final in Shizuoka, where England lost 2–1 to Brazil. Because of that match-specific printing, the shirt has stronger collector interest than a standard 2002 home version. It combines a major tournament, a correct player association, and one of the most remembered England matches of the era.
Shirt condition: 7.5/10
