This is the England 1998 home shirt made by Umbro, shown here with BECKHAM 7 on the back. It features a white base with navy and red side panels, a navy fold-over collar, the England crest at the centre of the chest, and UMBRO text above it. The shirt also has the number 7 on the front.
The design is typical of late-1990s Umbro international shirts. The main body uses a subtle embossed vertical stripe pattern, while the shoulders and sleeves have angular panel construction that gives the shirt a more technical look than earlier England kits. The navy and red inserts at the sides and sleeve cuffs are key details of the design and help place it clearly in the France 1998 era.
This shirt is most closely associated with the 1998 FIFA World Cup, where England reached the round of 16. David Beckham wore number 7 and was one of the most high-profile players in the squad, even though his tournament is most remembered for the Argentina match in Saint-Étienne.
