Celtic FC's 2004/05 away football shirt, manufactured by Umbro, features Irish winger Aiden McGeady #46. The shirt represents the early stages of McGeady's career at Celtic, where he emerged as one of Scotland's most promising young talents. Having made his first-team debut in April 2004, McGeady became increasingly involved during Martin O'Neill's final season in charge, showcasing the technical ability and creativity that would eventually make him a fan favourite at Celtic Park.
The shirt features a distinctive dark green colourway with contrasting white panels along the sides and sleeves. Umbro's white diamond logo sits opposite the Celtic crest, while the iconic Carling sponsor stretches diagonally across the front. A subtle textured fabric, V-neck collar and white trim complete the design. The back features McGeady's name and number 46 in white lettering, accompanied by UEFA Champions League starball patches on both sleeves, reflecting Celtic's participation in Europe's premier club competition.
The 2004/05 season saw Celtic compete for domestic honours under Martin O'Neill while participating in the UEFA Champions League group stage against Barcelona, AC Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk. Celtic finished second in the Scottish Premier League, narrowly missing out on the title to Rangers on the final day, but secured the Scottish Cup with a 1–0 victory over Dundee United. McGeady continued his development during the campaign, establishing himself as an exciting young attacking prospect and laying the foundations for his future success at the club.
