A classic from Liverpool’s early-2000s Reebok era, the 2001/02 away shirt featured a crisp white base with navy shoulder panels and gold piping, paired with the iconic Carlsberg sponsor that defined the club’s kits throughout that period. The raglan sleeve construction and breathable mesh inserts were typical of Reebok’s performance designs at the time, aiming for a lighter, more athletic fit compared to late-90s shirts.
The 2001/02 season came right after Liverpool’s famous 2000/01 cup treble and saw Gérard Houllier’s side continue as one of Europe’s strongest teams. Liverpool finished 2nd in the Premier League, returning to the Champions League and building around a core of Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen, Sami Hyypiä, Jamie Carragher and Dietmar Hamann. It marked the peak of Houllier’s project before the transition years that followed.
