The Puma Italy 2010 Home Football Shirt was worn during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and features the iconic Fabio Cannavaro #5 nameset. As captain of the reigning world champions, Cannavaro led Italy into the tournament following their unforgettable triumph in Germany four years earlier. This shirt also includes the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa sleeve patch, making it one of the defining international shirts of the era.
Puma introduced a bold new design for Italy's 2010 home kit, combining the traditional Azzurri blue with an embossed graphic inspired by ancient Roman armour across the front and back. White piping flows across the shoulders and sleeves, while the embroidered FIGC crest proudly displays Italy's four World Cup stars. The gold FIFA Champions badge beneath the crest signifies Italy's status as the defending world champions entering the tournament.
Although Italy's title defence ended in the group stage at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, this shirt remains an important piece of football history. It represents the final major international tournament for legendary captain Fabio Cannavaro, who retired from international football after the competition. Today, shirts featuring Cannavaro's nameset and the official World Cup patch are highly sought after by collectors for their historical significance and connection to one of Italy's greatest captains.
