This is the Italy 2010/11 away shirt by Puma, shown here in the long-sleeve version with Pirlo 21 on the back. The shirt carries the FIGC crest on the chest, Puma logos, and the UEFA Euro 2012 qualifying patch on the sleeve, placing it in the period between the 2010 World Cup and the build-up to Euro 2012. With Andrea Pirlo on the back, it is tied to one of the most elegant and influential midfielders of his generation.
Visually, this is a very refined Italy away shirt. The white base is paired with strong royal blue detailing on the numbering, collar insert and lower side panels, while the subtle gold accents add a premium finish that suits Italy’s kit identity perfectly. The overall result is sharp, clean and unmistakably Azzurri.
The design leans more modern than classic. The shaped hem, sculpted side inserts and technical paneling give the shirt a streamlined silhouette, while the collar adds a slightly more traditional touch. In long sleeves, the shirt feels even more elegant and match-oriented. It is a design that does not rely on noise or heavy graphics, but instead on balance, colour placement and proportion.
This shirt belongs to the transition period after Italy’s 2006 World Cup victory, when the national team was entering a new phase but still carried the weight and prestige of being world champions. Shirts from this era hold strong appeal because they sit close to that post-2006 identity, while also reflecting a more modern direction in football kit design.
With Andrea Pirlo 21 on the back, the shirt gains an even stronger football identity. Pirlo was central to Italy in this era, acting as the team’s tempo-setter and creative reference point from deep midfield. That makes this shirt especially appealing to collectors who value not just aesthetics, but also the football significance of the player attached to it.
Overall, this is a very strong Italy piece: a sleek 2010/11 away shirt with elegant blue-and-gold detailing, long-sleeve tournament-era appeal, and a nameset linked to one of Italy’s true modern greats.
