The 2014/15 third shirt is dominated by a rich royal blue body, contrasted sharply by vibrant orange-red panels along the shoulders and sides. The collar is a classic polo style in the same blue, but with button detailing—a nod to retro elegance with modern flair. The shirt’s clean lines and bold contrast colours make it striking from a distance, playing both as a visual statement and a modern alternative to Manchester United’s home kit.
This third kit was worn throughout the 2014/15 season, a transitional year for Manchester United under new manager Louis van Gaal. The club had just secured high-profile signings such as Ángel Di María, who inherited the iconic number 7 shirt following Wayne Rooney’s move to the no.10. The kit was worn in various Premier League and cup encounters, notably in the 2-1 win at Emirates Stadium, where Di María left his mark. It remains closely associated with that period of renewed ambition and marquee arrivals at Old Trafford.
