This Manchester United 2013/14 home shirt was made by Nike and features Wayne Rooney’s #10 nameset together with Champions League and UEFA Respect sleeve patches. It comes from the first season after Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, with David Moyes taking charge of the defending Premier League champions. The European configuration is especially relevant to Rooney, who produced some of United’s strongest performances of the campaign in the Champions League.
The 2013/14 season proved difficult domestically. United finished seventh in the Premier League, although they began the campaign by defeating Wigan Athletic 2–0 to win the Community Shield.
