Manchester United's 2005/06 away football shirt, manufactured by Nike, features Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo #7. Worn during his third season at Old Trafford, the shirt represents an important period in Ronaldo's development under Sir Alex Ferguson. Having joined Manchester United from Sporting CP in 2003, Ronaldo was establishing himself as one of the Premier League's most exciting young players, renowned for his explosive pace, exceptional dribbling and technical ability. Wearing the iconic number 7 previously associated with club legends such as George Best, Eric Cantona and David Beckham, Ronaldo continued his journey towards becoming one of football's greatest players.
The shirt features a distinctive royal blue colourway with bold red detailing across the shoulders, sleeves and V-neck collar. A white Nike Swoosh sits opposite the centrally positioned Manchester United crest, while the iconic Vodafone sponsor completes the front. Subtle vertical tonal stripes run through the fabric, complemented by contrasting red panels and breathable mesh sections. Ronaldo's name and number 7 appear on the back in white Premier League lettering with black outlines, while Barclays Premiership sleeve patches complete the design. The combination of blue and red makes this one of Manchester United's most recognisable away shirts from the mid-2000s.
