Finland's 2019 home football shirt, manufactured by Nike, features Finnish striker Teemu Pukki #10. Worn during Finland's historic UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying campaign, the shirt represents one of the most significant periods in Finnish football history. Pukki, who was enjoying an outstanding spell with Norwich City, became the focal point of Finland's attack under manager Markku Kanerva. His goalscoring ability, intelligent movement and composure in front of goal played a decisive role in helping the national team achieve a long-awaited breakthrough on the international stage.
The shirt features Finland's traditional white colourway with contrasting royal blue panels around the shoulders and sides. A black Nike Swoosh sits opposite the Finnish Football Association crest, which incorporates the country's iconic blue Nordic cross. The minimalist design is complemented by a white V-neck collar, breathable mesh sections and Nike's Dri-FIT technology. Pukki's name and number 10 appear on the back in dark blue lettering, with Finnish federation crests incorporated into the numbering. A distinctive black vertical detail beneath the back collar completes the design.
The 2019 campaign marked a historic achievement for Finland as the national team qualified for its first-ever major international tournament. Competing in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying Group J alongside Italy, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia and Liechtenstein, Finland secured second place with six victories from ten matches. Pukki was instrumental in their success, scoring ten goals during the qualifying campaign, including twice in the decisive 3–0 victory over Liechtenstein in November 2019 that confirmed Finland's qualification. His performances established him as a national hero and helped usher in a new era for Finnish football, culminating in the country's historic European Championship debut in 2021.
