This Juventus 1996/97 away football shirt was manufactured by Kappa and features Zinedine Zidane's iconic #21 nameset. The shirt was worn during Zidane's debut season in Turin, as Juventus claimed the Serie A title and reached the UEFA Champions League final under Marcello Lippi.
Zidane joined Juventus from Bordeaux in the summer of 1996 and quickly established himself as one of Europe's most gifted midfielders. Playing alongside Alessandro Del Piero, Didier Deschamps and Christian Vieri, the French playmaker helped Juventus secure the 1996/97 Serie A championship, the Intercontinental Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. Juventus also reached the Champions League final in Munich, where they were defeated 3–1 by Borussia Dortmund.
The 1996/97 campaign marked the beginning of Zidane's five-year spell at Juventus, during which he developed into one of the world's finest players before his record-breaking move to Real Madrid in 2001.
With its bold blue-and-yellow colourway, Sony MiniDisc sponsorship and ZIDANE #21 nameset, this shirt represents a defining period of late-1990s Italian football and the early years of a legendary career.
