The adidas Mexico 2010 Home Shirt is one of the most distinctive national team jerseys of the 2010 World Cup era. Worn by El Tri during the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, it features Rafael Márquez's iconic #4 nameset and the official FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010 sleeve patch.
As captain of the Mexican national team, Rafael Márquez was the leader of a generation that combined experience with flair. Already a legend through his success with Barcelona, Márquez remains one of the greatest Mexican footballers of all time.
This shirt stands out thanks to its unique tonal feather-inspired graphic woven throughout the green fabric. The design was inspired by Aztec culture and traditional Mexican symbolism, giving the shirt a strong national identity while remaining modern and performance-focused.
Mexico entered the 2010 FIFA World Cup with high expectations under Javier Aguirre. Led by captain Rafael Márquez, the team progressed from a difficult group featuring host nation South Africa, France and Uruguay.
Márquez played a crucial role throughout the tournament and famously scored Mexico's opening goal of the World Cup against South Africa in the tournament's opening match. Although Mexico was eliminated by Argentina in the Round of 16, this shirt remains closely associated with one of the country's most memorable World Cup campaigns and one of the defining players in Mexican football history.
