This is the Manchester United 2015/16 Home Football Shirt by Adidas, featuring club legend Wayne Rooney #10 with Barclays Premier League sleeve patches. It was the first Manchester United home shirt produced by Adidas after their return as the club's kit supplier, ending Nike's 13-year partnership.
The shirt combines a traditional V-neck collar with subtle tonal horizontal hoops across the iconic red base, taking inspiration from classic United kits of the 1980s. White sleeve cuffs and Adidas' signature three stripes complete the timeless look, while the gold Chevrolet sponsor became one of the defining visual elements of the era. The official Premier League patches make this version match-worn in appearance for domestic competition.
The 2015/16 season was Louis van Gaal's second campaign as manager. Manchester United finished fifth in the Premier League but ended the season on a high by winning the FA Cup, defeating Crystal Palace 2–1 after extra time. It was the club's first major trophy since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement and secured a place in the UEFA Europa League.
Wayne Rooney captained the side throughout the season and continued to cement his legendary status at Old Trafford. Wearing the famous #10, he scored crucial goals and led a squad that blended experienced stars with emerging academy talents such as Marcus Rashford, who made his breakthrough during the campaign. Rooney would go on to finish his Manchester United career as the club's all-time leading goalscorer with 253 goals.
For collectors, this shirt captures the beginning of the Adidas era, features the iconic Wayne Rooney #10 nameset, and represents an important transitional season in Manchester United's history. Combined with the Premier League patches, it is one of the standout modern shirts from Rooney's time as club captain.
