France's 2004 home football shirt, manufactured by adidas, features legendary midfielder Zinedine Zidane #10. Worn during UEFA Euro 2004 in Portugal, the shirt represents one of the final major international tournaments of Zidane's remarkable career. As France's captain and creative leader, Zidane entered the competition as one of football's most celebrated players, having already won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000 with Les Bleus.
The shirt features France's iconic royal blue colourway, complemented by a distinctive horizontal red gradient stripe across the chest. White adidas three-stripe detailing runs along the shoulders, while the French Football Federation crest, topped by a gold star commemorating the 1998 World Cup triumph, sits opposite the adidas logo. The design incorporates red accents around the collar, breathable mesh panels and white player numbering with a perforated effect. Zidane's name and number 10 appear on the back, while UEFA Euro 2004 tournament patches on the sleeves complete the shirt's international tournament appearance.
France entered Euro 2004 as defending European champions and one of the tournament favourites. Zidane delivered a memorable performance in the opening match against England, scoring twice in stoppage time to turn a 1–0 deficit into a dramatic 2–1 victory. France subsequently topped Group B ahead of England, Croatia and Switzerland but were eliminated in the quarter-finals following a surprising 1–0 defeat to eventual champions Greece. Zidane finished the tournament with three goals, and although he initially announced his international retirement afterwards, he would return in 2005 to lead France to the 2006 World Cup final.
