This is the adidas – FC Bayern München 2014/15 away football shirt in the long-sleeve version, shown here with Alonso 3 on the back. It features the FC Bayern crest with four stars, burgundy adidas three stripes down the sleeves, the T-Mobile sponsor across the chest, and full UEFA Champions League patches, including the Respect badge and the “5” badge of honour. That badge is especially important, as it marks Bayern’s status as five-time European champions. With Alonso 3 on the back, the shirt is tied directly to Xabi Alonso’s first season at the club.
The design is one of Bayern’s cleanest and most refined away looks from the 2010s. The white base is broken up by broad horizontal bands in burgundy, deep blue, and light grey, which gives the shirt a more sophisticated feel than a standard plain away shirt. It is a design that feels premium rather than loud. The long sleeves enhance that even more, making it look closer to an elite match shirt than a casual fan top. On the back, the Alonso 3 print in burgundy sits naturally within the palette and gives the shirt a very composed, elegant finish.
This shirt is most closely associated with Bayern Munich’s 2014/15 season, when the club was managed by Pep Guardiola and the squad included Xabi Alonso, Arjen Robben, Thomas Müller, Philipp Lahm, Manuel Neuer, Jérôme Boateng, David Alaba, Mario Götze, Robert Lewandowski, and Franck Ribéry. Alonso had joined from Real Madrid in 2014 and quickly became one of the team’s key controlling midfielders. Because of that, this shirt has a very distinct appeal. It is not just a Bayern away shirt, but a Champions League-spec long-sleeve Alonso shirt from Guardiola’s Bayern, which makes it especially strong for collectors of modern European shirts and player-specific pieces.
