This is the Argentina 2022 Away Shirt by adidas, featuring Lionel Messi #10 and the special "Poland – 30 November 2022, Stadium 974" print, commemorating Argentina's final group-stage match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The shirt is closely associated with the tournament that ended with Argentina lifting their third World Cup and Messi completing football's greatest individual legacy.
Departing from Argentina's traditional colours, the away shirt combines a deep purple base with lighter violet graphics inspired by the energy and atmosphere of the host nation, Qatar. The AFA crest carries two stars, representing Argentina's World Cup triumphs in 1978 and 1986, while the Messi #10 nameset matches the style worn during the tournament.
On 30 November 2022, Argentina defeated Poland 2–0 at Stadium 974 in Doha to secure top spot in Group C after a difficult start to the tournament. Although Lionel Messi had a penalty saved by Wojciech Szczęsny, goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Julián Álvarez ensured victory and sent Argentina into the knockout stages with momentum. From there, Lionel Scaloni's side overcame Australia, the Netherlands, Croatia and France to become world champions.
For collectors, this is a significant World Cup edition, combining the official Poland match print with Messi #10from the tournament that defined his career. It captures an important turning point in Argentina's journey to lifting the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
