Made by Adidas, featuring the AFA crest with two stars above it to mark Argentina’s World Cup wins in 1978 and 1986. The Adidas logo sits centrally, and this version includes the official FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 sleeve patch. Messi’s name and number 19 appear on the back in that iconic curved, layered font Adidas used for the tournament.
The traditional sky blue and white vertical stripes are paired with black Adidas shoulder stripes and subtle gold piping that adds a premium tournament feel. The cut panels and mesh inserts along the sides give it that unmistakable mid-2000s technical look. It’s a clean but dynamic design — modern for its time, but still rooted in Argentina’s historic identity.
This shirt comes from the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Lionel Messi’s first World Cup appearance. Still a teenager, he scored against Serbia & Montenegro and announced himself on the global stage. While Argentina went out in the quarter-finals to Germany on penalties, this kit is forever tied to the beginning of Messi’s legendary international journey.
