This is the Argentina 2002 home shirt made by adidas, shown here with Batistuta 9 on the back. It features Argentina’s classic sky blue and white vertical stripes, black adidas logo, the AFA crest, and official 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan sleeve patch. The Batistuta 9 print is fully correct for the period, as Gabriel Batistuta wore number 9 and led the line for Argentina at the 2002 World Cup.
The design is very typical of early-2000s adidas international shirts, with the V-neck collar, and the large white mesh side panels. It keeps Argentina’s traditional striped identity intact. Compared with 1990s Argentina shirts, this one feels more performance-driven and more athletic in construction, while still staying very recognisable as a classic Albiceleste shirt.
Argentina used this home shirt during the 2002 World Cup, entering the tournament as one of the strongest teams in the competition. The squad included players such as Gabriel Batistuta, Juan Sebastián Verón, Ariel Ortega, Javier Zanetti, Claudio Caniggia, Hernán Crespo, Pablo Aimar, and Roberto Ayala. Batistuta was already an iconic figure for the national team by this stage, which makes the Batistuta 9 print especially desirable.
