This is the adidas – Ajax 2014/15 home football shirt, shown here with Schöne 20 on the back and full UEFA Europa League sleeve patches. It features Ajax’s classic white base with the broad central red panel, white sleeves, a red fold-over collar, adidas three stripes on the shoulders, the AEGON sponsor across the chest, and the Ajax crest with three stars above it. With Schöne 20 on the back, it is tied directly to one of the most technically gifted and recognisable Ajax players of that era.
What makes this shirt work so well is how closely it stays to Ajax tradition. The silhouette is unmistakable. Few club shirts in football are as instantly recognisable as Ajax’s home design, and this one keeps that identity intact while still feeling modern through its cleaner cut and subtle pinstripe detailing within the red centre panel. The collar gives it a slightly more classic look than many contemporary shirts, which suits Ajax especially well. On the back, the Schöne 20 print adds even more character, because Lasse Schöne is one of those players strongly associated with Ajax’s style of play and technical quality.
This shirt is most closely tied to Ajax’s 2014/15 season, during the latter part of the Frank de Boer era, when the squad included players such as Lasse Schöne, Davy Klaassen, Anwar El Ghazi, Joël Veltman, Niklas Moisander, and Arkadiusz Milik. Schöne was one of the most important technical players in that side, valued for his passing range, set-piece quality, and calm presence in midfield. That gives this shirt extra collector appeal. It is not just a classic Ajax home shirt, but a European-spec Schöne shirt from a very recognisable modern Ajax period.
