So you call yourself a snekaer head, right? Lets see how much you know about Nike. Before telling the story of Nike, one have to reverse the timeline a couple of years before Nike became Nike. An American sportswear company called Blue Ribbon Sports and headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon was founded in 1964. The two founders, Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight who both had associations to the University of Oregon opened their first retail outlet in 1966 and launched the Nike brand shoe in 1972. The company was renamed Nike, Inc., in 1978 and went public two years later. Decades later, by the early 21st century, Nike had established retail locations and distributors in more than 170 countries. The brand is still today world leading within its niche and parts of its success owes endorsements by such athletes as Michael Jordan, Cristiano Ronaldo, Serena Williams and many more.
